Assassination of Trump

July 13 2024, started as a typical day in the USA. However, no one had ever imagined that by the time evening unfolded, something would happen that would make the day one of the blackest days in the history of America and this would be something which will be placed in the category of April 14, 1865, November 22, 1963, October 14, 1912, or March 30, 1981. The thing which has been seen is that an attempt was being made on the assassination of Trump in Butler, Pennsylvania. Trump is one of the presidential candidates for the upcoming election that is scheduled to occur in November 2024 in the United States of America.

Who is Trump?

Trump, also known as Donald J Trump, was born on June 14 1946, in Queens, New York. He was the fourth child of Fred Trump, who was a business magnet in New York City. He started his career following his father’s footsteps in 1968 when he took charge of his family business. An attempt was made on the assassination of Trump even before 2024, as in 2016, a similar thing was tried in Las Vegas by Michael Steven Sandford, a British-born American citizen. However, the security officials at that time prevented him before he could conduct some severe attack on him.

The backdrop to this incident

On July 3, 2024, The Republic Party announced that Donald Trump, who is running on their ticket in this election, will hold a public rally on June 13 in the Butler farm show grounds, which is located in Butler, Pennsylvania. Four separate counter snipers were assigned to monitor this event, two from the FBI and Two from the local law enforcement of that place. However, both the FBI and the local law enforcement, despite arranging tight security, stated that they had no idea that someone would attempt the assassination of Trump.

The incident

During the time of the incident, Trump was delivering a speech at the rally addressing his followers. At 6:11 pm, a bullet directly hit the upper right ear of Trump, who was at the centre of the rally, which caused him to drop down on the podium behind the pulpit for cover. However, the security service agents quickly approached him and shielded him. Trump then raised his fist, pumped it and shouted towards the crowd, chanting, “Fight, Fight, Fight”.

A large display of charts which portrays the statistics of immigration was credited with preventing the assassination of Trump. Trump himself admitted that if he hadn’t turned around to the chart, the first bullet would have hit him directly on the head.  After this, the security officials quickly escorted him to a vehicle and took him to a nearby hospital.

Victims

Despite the primary aim being the assassination of Trump, three more men were victims of this where; two of them were critically injured, and one of them died on the spot. The people who were critically wounded, as identified by Pennsylvania State Police, are David Dutch (57), who resides in New Kensington, Pennsylvania and James Copenhaver (74), who resides in the moon township of that region. Meanwhile, the state police have identified the deceased victim’s name, Corey Comparator (50), who was stated to have died while guarding his daughter from the gunfire.

The person responsible for the incident

The shooter who was killed on the spot by the FBI during that time on the following day was identified by the organisation as a guy name Thomas Matthew Cooks, who was 20 at the time. One of the curious things that come from the statements of his classmates and his voter registration data is that he was a leaning conservative and a registered Republican. The same ideology and party where Trump belongs, so the motivation for his conducting the assassination of Trump is indeed a mystery. Currently, the FBI is investigating this matter.

International response

Several countries have openly condemned this shooting incident and expressed their good wishes to Trump for recovery. Amongst them, the current prime minister of India, Narendra Modi, stated that he is deeply concerned by the attempt which has been made by the assassination of Trump, whom he referred to as a friend in his statement. Russia meanwhile blamed it on the inner atmosphere of the USA. Cuba, on the other hand, blamed the USA’s arms industry in this case. Meanwhile, the Georgian prime minister blamed this incident on the Global War Party, one of the popular conspiracy theories that the ruling party of Georgia often projects.
