The 24th edition of the International Indian Film Academy Awards (IIFA) took place in the iconic Etihad Arena of Yas Island in Abu Dhabi, the capital of United Arab Emirates. The Nexa sponsored three-day grand, star-studded event which is taking place in Abu Dhabi for the third time in a row was hosted by the Bollywood superstar, Shah Rukh Khan and the director and producer, Karan Johar. The duo was also accompanied by Vicky Kaushal, known for his phenomenal acting skills ever since he made his debut with Masaan (2015).

The Best Picture Award – Animal
The Best Picture Award was bagged by the 2023 controversial movie, Animal directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga and the IIFA trophy was received by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar and Pranay Reddy Vanga, the producer of the movie. The nominations included Vidhu Vinod Chopra directed 12th Fail, Karan Johar directed Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, Atlee Kumar directed Jawan, Sameer Sanjay Vidwans directed Satyaprem Ki Katha and Sam Bahadur directed by Meghna Gulzar.

Vidhu Vinod Chopra won the Best Director category with his emotional roller coaster biographical drama, 12th Fail.
