Bihar: Rail, Roads, and Digital Growth
- Four Amrit Bharat Express trains will be flagged off, connecting Patna, Motihari, Darbhanga, and Malda Town to key northern cities like Delhi and Lucknow.
- Railway projects worth Rs 4,080 crore include doubling of the Darbhanga-Narkatiaganj line and a Vande Bharat maintenance facility at Patliputra.
- Road infrastructure upgrades, such as the four-laning of the Ara bypass and Parariya-Mohania section of NH-319, will improve access to the Delhi-Kolkata corridor.
The Prime Minister will also inaugurate a Software Technology Parks of India (STPI) centre in Darbhanga and a start-up incubation hub in Patna to promote IT and ITES exports. Under the PM Matsya Sampada Yojana, new fisheries infrastructure—ranging from hatcheries to aquaculture units—will be launched to boost the local economy and rural livelihoods.
West Bengal: Energy Infrastructure and Connectivity
- PM Modi will lay the foundation stone for Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd (BPCL) City Gas Distribution projects worth Rs 1,950 crore in Bankura and Purulia districts.
- The projects will expand household PNG connections, CNG availability at retail outlets, and industrial gas supply.
- The Durgapur-Kolkata section (132 km) of the Durgapur-Haldia Natural Gas Pipeline and the Bokaro-Dhamra Pipeline, part of the Pradhan Mantri Urja Ganga project, will be dedicated to the nation.
These energy projects are expected to reduce dependency on conventional fuels and support both household and industrial requirements in the state.
A Broader Vision for Eastern India
With these projects, PM Modi’s government aims to strengthen eastern India’s economic backbone by upgrading connectivity, fostering start-ups, and enhancing energy infrastructure. The focus on modern rail networks, digital innovation hubs, and clean energy solutions underscores a push toward balanced growth and sustainable development.
By launching these multi-sectoral initiatives ahead of key political and economic milestones, the Centre is not only boosting infrastructure but also signaling its commitment to bridging developmental gaps in historically underfunded regions.
