As per EC Regulation 261/2004, in the case of Air India airline cancellations and delays, the circumstances have caused it, which the airline can control, and there is a possibility of getting reimbursement of almost € 600.

But, if there is a delay of more than 5 hours, the passengers can have different types of benefits, such as care about the luggage, the arrangement of transportation and accommodation, communication services, and a refund of the full fare of the ticket.

In the case of denied boarding, it is not possible to get more than €600 as reimbursement, despite it not everything. In the case of denying the boarding contrary, the passenger can get a refund of the flight fare within one week. Otherwise, the airline can arrange alternate transport also, so that he/she can travel. The Directorate General of Civil Aviation has provided a showcase notice to Air India for the repeated delay of flights. There is one more option the airline can help to rebook the ticket for another day. Hence, it is the responsibility of the airline to arrange everything, like the accommodation, transport, and meals for the passengers, so that they can get the important benefits.
With the recent merger of Air India with Vistara and an effective metro facility for its foreign travelers, the airline needs to tackle the delays and cancellations so that it can pioneer the airline space in India.
