International flyers can now check their baggage at two well-known metro stations in Delhi – Shivaji Stadium and New Delhi. Well, how did this happen? The Delhi Airport started the check-in and baggage drop facility for outstation passengers at two metro stations located in Delhi. Air India now provides baggage-free options to international flyers to make journeys more convenient. Now, rather than a long waiting period at the airport, they can explore the city hassle-free. Meanwhile, all their baggage gets securely transported and loaded onto the aircraft through DIAL’s automated and advanced infrastructure.

Well, this service is only available for domestic flyers of Air India and Vistara. But Air India extended the service for international flyers too to maintain a customer-centric business.

How do international flyers avail of the check-in service?

Metro services are available in the Delhi metro stations in a 10-minute gap. In this case, passengers can reach the departure route of Terminal 3 of Delhi Airport in less than 20 minutes. International flyers can avail of this service at the metro stations from 0700 hours to 2100 hours. However, domestic passengers can check in their baggage from 12 hours to 2 hours before their flight departure, while international flyers can check in from 4 hours to 2 hours before flight departure.

International flyers need to follow three steps. In the first step, they have to drop their check-in baggage at the counter of metro stations. In the second step, they have the collect their boarding passes instantly. Lastly, they have to reach Terminal 3 of Delhi Airport within 19 minutes through Airport Express Line.

This initiative not only provides a cost-effective option for travelers coming from distant locations but also helps control congestion at the airport, leading to a better experience for all our customers.”
