About Lewis Hamilton

Lewis Hamilton was born in 1985 and started his racing career when he was eight years old; with go-karting being the sport, he chose to shine this talent and also to cater all the skills that are needed to be an elite Formula One driver. At the age of ten, in 1995, he took home the British Kart Championship, and from there, his talent started to be recognised.

Three years later, Hamilton signed up for the Mercedes-Benz and McLaren Young Driver Support Program, where he received the encouragement and resources he required to hone his abilities. Hence, with this programme, he attained all the necessary support to enhance his skills, and he joined the facility in 1998. At the age of 10 he won two motorsport competitions with borrowed gears and shoes that defined the level of talent and skill he had at that time. After the win, his father got a call from Ron Dennis, former CEO of Mclaren, who provided him with an offer for complete education and training for becoming a Formula One driver.

Lewis Hamilton went on to win three major single-seater titles after taking home eight championships in six years of kart racing. The most prestigious of these was the GP2 championship when Lewis Hamilton finished fifth out of 21 starts in 2006. However, the young British driver’s multiple valiant comebacks from the back of the pack to the podium were the main reason behind McLaren’s decision to give him a Formula One team promotion.

Later, with the entry in Formula One, Lewis Hamilton has 348 races in which he took part till now and out of those he has 105 race wins with seven championship titles. This was the story of the most successful driver in Formula One of all time, which started from a backyard in England and ended up being a legend.

In this season, after the win at the Turkish Grand Prix, he was declared the world champion, and it was his seventh Title.

Where is the 8th Title?

Season 2021 was not a good season for him as he was so close to the championship title and creating a history for this sport, yet of a technical decision at the last race in Abu Dhabi, he came second, for which he was unable to win his eight Title. Later, this went on for a greater controversy as this season would have marked him with a piece of history, and yet, for a fault from the racing committee, he could not achieve the mark.

Later that, Lewis Hamilton did not perform well in his races, and it has been three seasons since then, and yet fans are waiting for him to lift his eight championship title. After 2021, he was not able to win a single race, and yet in the year 2024, he won the British Grand Prix at Silverstone, and that was his 104th win in Formula One. While the season 2024 has not been going well for him as he is currently in 6th position and is 139 points behind the driver in first place which seems impossible for him to lift the championship title in this season.

Well, hopes are not yet finished for all the fans, as Lewis Hamilton will be joining Ferrari in 2025 with his teammate Charles Leclerc by his side.
