Schedule and venue of ICC T20 World Cup 2024

As the most anticipated ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 started, it has led all 20 teams to engage in practice sessions. The much-awaited event is all set to be held from 2nd June 2024 to 29th June 2024 across the United States and West Indies. This is the ninth edition of the ICC T20 World Cup while the first edition was held in 2007 and the last edition was in 2022.

A lot of excitement is around there in this T20 tournament as, for the first time, 20 teams are going to be participating to lift the champion trophy in the 2024 T20 World Cup. A total of 55 matches are scheduled to be played among 20 teams in nine cities- three in the USA and six in the West Indies. In the context of success ratio, teams England and West Indies have the most as both teams have lifted the champion trophy two times in the World Cup.

Group details

The teams for the ICC T20 World Cup have been divided into four groups consisting of five members in each group. Group A includes India, Pakistan, the USA, Canada, and Ireland, while Group B consists of England, Australia, Namibia, Scotland and Oman. West Indies, New Zealand, Afghanistan, Uganda, and Papua New Guinea are in Group C and South Africa, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Netherlands, and Nepal are included in Group D. The top two teams from each group will be entered into the Super Eight round of the tournament of ICC Men’s T20 World Cup.

In this phase, the qualifying teams of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup will be divided into two groups consisting of four teams, and further top two teams of each group will be qualified for the knockout stage, including two semi-finals and a final round.
